How much barley soup to cook?

How to cook barley soup
Products
Beef broth - 2.5 liters
Smoked beef - 300 grams
Barley - 3/4 cup
Celery - 3 petioles
Leeks - 15 centimeters
Carrots - 1 piece
Onions - 2 heads
Potatoes - 2 tubers
Cabbage - 1/4 head of cabbage
Butter - 40 grams
Olive oil - 1/3 cup
Bay leaf - 3 pieces
Carnation - bud
Pepper - 4 peas
Salt to taste
How to cook barley soup
1. Wash barley, pour boiling water over and soak for 5 hours.
2. Pour fresh cool water over the barley, place on the hotplate and cook over high heat for 40 minutes.
3. Cut celery and leeks into half rings, onions - into cubes, carrots - into strips.
4. Peel the potatoes, cut into strips approximately 3 centimeters long and 1 wide.
5. Chop the cabbage.
6. In a saucepan, combine butter and olive, fry the onion over medium heat for 5 minutes.
7. Add celery, leeks, potatoes, cabbage, carrots and fry for a few minutes.
8. Pour 3-4 bowls of beef broth into a saucepan and simmer for 30 minutes.
9. Cut the smoked beef into slices.
10. Put vegetables, barley, beef, salt, pepper, bay leaf, clove bud into a saucepan with broth and wait until it boils.
