Compote is a delicious drink, a drinking reminder of summer. Compotes are prepared for future use in 4 ways:
- The berries are poured with boiling water, and insisted, then the boiling water is drained, a syrup is prepared on its basis - and the compote mixture is poured over it again. Sometimes this procedure is repeated several times. This is the classic, or "grandmother's" way.
- Berries and fruits are cooked in syrup - sometimes they only bring to a boil, and sometimes you have to boil juices from compote products for a long time. Then close with lids. This is the most popular "urban" method, as you can cook a lot at once.
- The compote products are sterilized directly in the jars - the products are put into the jar, poured with water and sugar is added, they are put on sterilization for 10-20 minutes. The method has a clear disadvantage - without special equipment, the method is very time consuming.
- Berries and / or fruits are frozen for the winter, and, if necessary, frozen fruits are boiled.
